An unexpected pregnancy affects both of you. As a partner, your support can make a meaningful difference. At Arise Center for Women, we recognize that men also need a space to process, ask questions, and find help.

We’re here for you, whether you’re feeling shocked, confused, scared, or uncertain.

How You Can Support Her

When your partner shares she’s pregnant, your response matters. She may be overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next, and knowing you’re there can help her feel more grounded. Here are some ways you can show up:

  • Listen without judgment. Give her space to express how she feels without trying to fix it right away.

  • Get informed. Learn about her pregnancy options so you can support her in making a decision.

  • Be present. Offer to attend appointments, help with transportation, or simply be available to talk.

  • Stay calm and respectful. Emotions may be high—your steady presence can help ease fear and uncertainty.

Even if you’re unsure what role you’ll play, know that you don’t have to have all the answers right now.

The Fatherhood Program

Arise Center for Women offers a no-cost Fatherhood Program just for men. Our program connects you with male mentors who understand what you’re going through and are here to help.

Whether you’re preparing for fatherhood or just need someone to talk to, our mentors provide practical advice, emotional support, and encouragement in a confidential, judgment-free setting. Topics may include parenting skills, healthy relationships, co-parenting, goal setting, and personal growth.

This program is a great opportunity to gain confidence, learn how to support your partner effectively, and think about the kind of father or man you want to be.
